The 9th PAGIN Workshops (2017)

Workshops on
Basic Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamic models (Workshop I, 26-27, June, 2017)
Population Pharmacokinetics Data Analysis and Visualization (Workshop II, 28-30, June, 2017) PSGIMSR, Coimbatore

We are pleased to announce the “Workshop on data analysis using NONMEM” organized by Population Approach Group of India (PAGIN). PAGIN is a non-profit group in India, devoted to sharing and furthering knowledge and skills in Population based data analysis. PAGIN conducts annual workshops, and has held eight workshops so far. These were received well and appreciated by the NONMEM learning community in India.

This year PAGIN organizes two workshops in June focusing on basic PK-PD modeling and Population PK-PD modeling.

Basic Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamic models (Workshop I)

This workshop focuses on introductory level concepts of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics modeling. Apart from lectures, Hands-on exercises in pharmacokinetic data analysis is planned using ‘R’ software package. R is very versatile open source package and R coding is invaluable in any data analysis scenario. This two day workshop will introduce the concepts of PK-PD and demonstrate its application with hands-on exercises.

Course Faculty: Dr. Ayyappa Chaturvedula, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacotherapy, University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), Fort Worth, Texas, USA, Dr. M. Surulivel Rajan, Post-Doctoral Research Associate, UNTHSC, Fort Worth, Texas, USA & Dr.Dhanashri Gudi, Edu Cater, Mumbai

Target audience: undergraduate and post graduate and PhD students of pharmacy and medicine disciplines. Academics and Pharma industry participants will also benefit from this workshop.

Participants are expected to bring their own laptops with R installed in it. Instructions will be sent to registered participants.

Dates: June 26 & 27, 2017

Maximum Participants: 60 (First come first serve)

Registration fee: Rs.2000/- from Academics and students* and Rs.4000/- for industry participants.

Population Pharmacokinetics Data Analysis and Visualization (Workshop II)

This workshop runs for three days with one day of dedicated introduction and hands on with R software package for data processing and data visualization. Programming in R is considered as an important requirement in the field of Pharmcometrics, therefore this section has been introduced in this year. Day two and three will focus on introduction to the concepts of population pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics models and hands-on exercises with NONMEM software package. The software will be provided in flash-drives for the pariticipants to work during the workshop.
